Case Studies

On Thursday 17th August 2017, we hosted an adrenaline fuelled, team building event, for 24 members of Cognita’s finance department.

09:00
The party is greeted with our full English breakfast.
09:45
After an introduction, each group commences their first activity.

The four activities for the day are: quad biking, shooting, 4x4s, and archery.

Quad bikes – after familiarising themselves with the quads the team is tasked with the quad bike bucket challenge.

Shooting – under tuition from our instructor, each member of the team shoots 40 clays from various stands, accumulating valuable points for their team.

4x4s – the team embarks on the 4x4 navigation challenge, really putting their communication skills to the test!

Archery – once taught the skills of a competent archer, the blindfold is introduced! Let’s hope the team trust one another!

Back at the clubhouse, lunch is served - meats from the griddle with jacket potatoes.

The third activity is underway.
15:00
Teams move on to their fourth activity.
16:15
Final chance to score some points, as each team take their turn to shoot the flurry... A total of 60 clays are launched, so a strategy may be a good idea!
16:45
Everyone returns to the clubhouse to learn which team leaves victorious. Funnily enough, it’s the, “Ladies Who Win” – a self-fulfilling team name!

Afterwards, the 3 groups gathered for the flurry, in turn, taking on the barrage of 50 targets.

For nearly 20 years, Sporting Targets have hosted the F1 Challenge, an annual event organised by the Grand Prix Trust, together with Tess, our Corporate Events Manager. Nine teams participated this year:

  • IG Racing x4
  • Mercedes HPP x2
  • Pirelli
  • Nissan
  • F1 Retired Old Farts

The teams partook in a competition of 100 clays, with the F1 Retired Old Farts clinching victory! Not far behind them, Mercedes HPP Team 1 took the second spot on the podium, and Doug Thompson claimed the title of Top Gun. To add to the success of the event, everyone was treated to hog roast rolls!

Thanks so much for a fab day - wow, that was successful!
Arlene, Grand Prix Trust
Yet another fantastic time, as usual the whole event ran like clockwork. Look forward to doing it again next year.
